Ruth Langsford interrupted by Phillip Schofield live on air

Ruth Langsford is left looking VERY unimpressed after Phillip Schofield interrupts her live on air in resurfaced clip that fans speculate led her to ‘complain’ to ITV bosses

Phillip Schofield interrupted Ruth Langsford while she was presenting live on-air which led to speculation it was the moment that made her reportedly lodge a formal complaint against him with ITV.

In the clip, from April, Ruth, 59, appeared at the end of This Morning to let viewers know what was coming up on that day’s episode of Loose Women.

Towards the end of the segment, Phillip, 57, interrupted and said: ‘Guys we’re going to have to jump in there and stop you I’m afraid because we’re a bit tight for time at this end. Thank you Ruth.’

Ruth, who clearly looked unimpressed with Phillip’s interruption, responded: ‘Well I only had about two more words to say,’ and looked away from the camera.

Phillip did not appear to notice Ruth’s reaction and carried on with the end of This Morning with co-host Holly Willoughby

The awkward moment has resurfaced on social media with many viewers noting the strained interaction between the two hosts.

One user wrote on Twitter: ‘Oh my god the dramatics,’ while another said: ‘The mask has well and truly slipped.’

Another viewer wrote: What a rude tone… that means ego has taken over. Bye bye Phillip.’

The clip comes as Phil was accused of creating a ‘toxic atmosphere’ for his This Morning co-stars, with allegations of ongoing spats with Holly and stand-in hosts Ruth and Eamonn Holmes.

It is claimed eight different ITV presenters have broken their silence regarding Phillip’s attitude.

A report stated the situation behind the scenes at This Morning had become ‘toxic’ in recent months, with employees too scared to speak out publicly for fear of backlash.

An ITV source told The Sun: ‘For so long people have been silenced because they are scared for their job. If they speak out publicly about the atmosphere they fear there could be repercussions.’

An insider close to Holly added to the paper: ‘It's true there have been some issues. They're like brothers and sisters – they have ups and downs but love each other.’

Hitting back at the reports, a spokesperson for ITV said: ‘It's deeply disappointing and unfair for Phillip to be the target of this sort of malicious gossip.’

‘Phillip is a much respected broadcaster and colleague and this is absolutely not a description of This Morning that we recognise.

‘Holly and Phil are great friends both on and off screen and are popular among viewers and colleagues alike.’

Despite the rumours of tension, Holly and Phil put on a united front when they appeared together at the show launch of Dancing On Ice on Monday.
